About SHINee's Family Background →

I was deliberating between posting this at the bulletins but it doesn’t seem that official enough so i just thought to share it here since i have read some pretty ridiculous stories about SHINee's family background (especially the ones about Onew. those stories could even be made into a drama -.-). this is something that i read over at SM SHINee and it's written by a Chinese fan 小智Onew's family owns a meat shop in a market. in Korea, the meat is who resides in Korea. I added in some of my own observations as well so feel free to share what you know of the boys too.

Just to recap with everyone about SHINee's family(the people they live with)

ONEW: father, mother, onew (only child)

JONGHYUN: father, mother, older sister, jonghyun (youngest)

KEY: father, mother, grandmother, key (only child)

MINHO: father, mother, older brother, minho (youngest)

TAEMIN: father, mother, older brother, taemin (youngest)

ABOUT ONEW'S FAMILY BACKGROUND

pretty pricey so they earn a reasonable sum of money from selling meat. besides, to be able to own a shop in Korea, it shows that the family is relatively well-off. Onew used to study in the SM academy and the school fees there is like 50 million won per month so yeah. he probably belongs to the middle to upper income family. And if you were to look back on the channel v bags special video. Onew actually owns a notebook and 2 iPods which shows that his family is pretty well off too.

There was a SHINee fan who visited the shop before and said that SHINee's songs were being played in the store. Apparently, Onew learned how to play the piano on his own (ie. did not take lessons) as he enrolled into high school. he probably received proper lessons as a trainee in SM. Onew is also said to be a really kind boy in school. on a field trip to the sea with his friends, he took a portion of meat from his family shop that could feed 10 people to share with his friends. Even though that meant lesser earnings for his family that day.

There are many untrue rumours about Onew's background. the most famous one being his family being a very prestigious and well respected family. About how his grandfather is a renowned pianist and his father works in the government but then gave up his position to invest a business venture with his mother. There was another rumour about how Onew was a delinquent kid and he turned over a new leaf after a financial crisis in the family or some sort.

ABOUT KEY'S FAMILY BACKGROUND

Key's family is very wealthy (he is probably the most well-off in SHINee). His father works in the bonds sector (stocks exchange, investment, banking, broker etc). Key was sent overseas when he was young to study language(probably English). he returned to Korea and was sent overseas again for a year. I m guessing that he was sent to America since he mentioned before he stayed in sans Francisco(or was it LA?) for a year before. key has also been on exchange programmes to America as well as scuba diving lessons before (go dig up the translated essays of key at the bulletins) so his family is definitely well-off to be able to sponsor him on such trips and all.

Key is also very close to his grandmother. it is said that he grew up living along with his grandmother. Which explains his 'umma' personality in the group as well as his naggy nature when talking sometimes.

With regards to key's family financial status. It is pretty obvious from the way key carries himself that he is from a wealthy family. For one his fashion sense and his knowledge about fashion. He dresses well and knows a lot about the fashion trends which is something that people who are more well-off will pursue.

MINHO'S FAMILY BACKGROUND

I’m sure many of us have heard of this. Minho's father is the ex soccer coach of the Taejeon soccer team. He recently went to turkey during autumn for further training but has returned from the trip already.

it is believed that Minho's family is relatively well-off too. A soccer coach's salary should be pretty high. And like key. Minho's fashion sense is also very good. If you were to look at the channel v bags special video. Minho's bag seems to show that his financial status is not bad. The laptop, psp etc. even the bag itself appears to be pricey. (Or maybe it's just in my country that those kind of leather bags are pricey). A stalker picture of him shopping in myeong-dong with Jonghyun. Minho is seen carrying a LV bag which needless to say, is exorbitant price and obviously not a kind of gift that fans can afford. So for Minho(or his family) to be able to afford this kind of luxury, it can be inferred that his family is relatively well off too.

It is also said that Minho had wanted to be a basketball player initially.

TAEMIN'S & JONGHYUN'S FAMILY BACKGROUND

Out of all the SHINee members. Little is known about Taemin's and Jonghyun's family background. there have been rumours about how Jonghyun and Taemin knew each before they were trainees since both their mothers used to be celebrities. this has never been confirmed and it is pretty much unlikely too.

TAEMIN’S FAMILY BACKGROUND

Taemin's family is said to be the least well-off amongst the members. As a trainee, He did not own a MP3 player and had walked around wearing a set of headphones that was just tucked into his pocket and not attached to anything. When he was found out, he simply said that he just wanted to avoid having girls come up to him for a chat. the current iPod (it looks like an iPod but it may just be MP3 of some unknown brand) that he owns was a gift given by a noona fan on one of their earliest fan sign event. There were rumours about his father being a history teacher in middle school but it was never proven true. The bags special on channel v shows Taemin's bag as being the most simple amongst the members. There was nothing especially pricey in the bag which itself is a gift from the fans too. Taemin's modest personality also suggests that he came from a humble background.

JONGHYUN’S FAMILY BACKGROUND

It is believed that Jonghyun's family is relatively well-off too. Jonghyun studied in a music school (before he stopped school to focus on debut) and fees for such institutions in Korea are quite high so his family must be quite well-off to afford sending him to such school. Besides, Jonghyun was in a band as a student and for him to be able to dabble in music (owning a bass, learning instruments). His family's financial status should be not bad as well. From memory though. i don’t recall Jonghyun talking about his father before. his messages on radio shows have always been about his mother and once about his sister(2 years older than him) who are the 2 people he is closest to apparently.

Finally ~ my fanaccount how was down the street and ran into SHINee and Suju.

Hello!
My name is Andrea and I want to share my experience in Paris with SHINee and Suju.

We arrived at the capital of France on June 9 at night, so that night I rested as much in order to have energy for the concert. The next day I had to wait more than 7 hours of walking until SMTOWN started, but it was worth. Now I will not recount details of the concert, because this is not a fanacount about it. The point is that on 11 went sightseeing, went to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Place de la Concorde, etc.Throughout the day I got the feeling that I would meet someone famous, but then remembered that in those moments they were having the second SMTOWN. My pulse was terrible and my mother asked me what was wrong with what I could only answer “they are.” She understood immediately and told me to calm down, but could not. They kept looking at the souvenirs and I did not dare to take pictures or talk, so my mother started screaming for me to react and I approach them. When I decided to go Minho, I realized it would be impossible because it was surrounded by other boys and the manager of SHINee was near. My eyes searched for someone “helpless” Onew LOL and I saw a little apart from the others. As had his back gave him a pat on the shoulder and he turned. His face was a poem and I think it was my shirt … it was the official JYJ. Do not know what to say, so I just watched him and said “photo, please?” He looked around and I instantly turned the hearing. The manager came to us crazy shot. Onew lowered his head and said something, but only understood “mianhaeyo” a few seconds, the manager of 3 meters (LOOL is very high!) Give me a hug! “. The manager finally let out a “ok” and Dubu smiled. I wanted to die at that moment. It was a short embrace but my heart was beating very fast and my face began to burn.

Lee Jinki is really masculine, it smells really good. Her perfume is not cool, as I had expected someone younger, but a hot smell, full and masculine. His chest is really comfortable and I felt very small in his arms. Because Onew is the favorite of my best friend, it was like to hug my brother hahaha. In fact, as I said before, my intention was to go for Minho and he is totally bias.

As for others, Eunhyuk off an aura of “do not come near me” really scared me (I’d heard before the suit is not very nice with the fans) instead hahaha Leeteuk looks very nice, even laughed when Onew hugged me. Key is a total outrageous and speaks very highly, clothing is also rare, so even a normal person does not know who he is, anyway will keep looking at him because of his eccentric appearance. Shindong was hooded and just talked and Donghae is terribly short, plus it looked tired, his face damaged. That made me very sad. Jonghyun is also very short and to the side of Minho Taemin and looks really funny. Yesung is beautiful, really look great sunglasses and also looks very nice. I think I leave it to none. Oh!
